Zuerich, Switzerland. Where the author did much of his research on Swiss banking. Where the novel opens with a foreboding atmosphere.
Inside Biltmore in North Carolina. with my friend Tim Fowler, who generously took his time to drive me there. The gargoyles here, inspired my use of them in the story.
Place Vendome. Where the the guillotine was used during the French Revolution. A parallel used in the novel regarding a more Middle East style revolution.
